Health Care Estimates

For Clients who are younger than 65, the health care estimate will be based on Private Insurance and Out of Pocket Expenses.

  •       Private Insurance is an estimate based on the client’s state.

  •       Out of Pocket Expenses is based on a national average.

Once a client turns 65, their health care costs will switch to the logic below.

For Clients who are 65 and older, the health care estimate will be based on Medicare Part B, Medicare Part D, Medigap Plan F, and Out of Pocket Expenses.

  • Medicare Part B is a federal estimate and may increase depending on the client’s income and filing status. To calculate the estimate, the tool will use the client’s income from 2 years prior. For example, to calculate the expense for 2025, the tool will use the client’s income from 2023 to calculate the client’s income bracket.

  • Medicare Part D is an estimate based on the client’s state and may increase depending on the client’s income and filing status. To calculate the estimate, the tool will use the client’s income from 2 years prior. For example, to calculate the expense for 2025, the tool will use the client’s income from 2023 to calculate the client’s income bracket.

  •  Medigap Plan F is based on the client’s state.

  •  Out of Pocket Expenses is based on a national average.
